Fast Penny Spirits: A Passion for Amaro and Empowering Women

Jamie Hunt and Holly Robinson join us to discuss Amaro.  Fast Penny Spirits is a distillery in Seattle that focuses on making Amaro.

Amaro is a  bittersweet liqueur that can contain dozens of ingredients.  Fast Penny uses over 45 ingredients to create their products. Holly and Jamie share the journey from kitchen sink to their own distillery in Seattle.

Just some of the ingredients used to create Amaricano:

  • Black Truffles
  • Saffron
  • Cascara
  • Hazelnuts
  • Cocoa Nibs

The ingredients are locally sourced and sustainably farmed. The attention to detail is evident throughout the entire process.

This episode opened my eyes about Amaro. Before the episode I purchased two bottles and had tried them before recording.  The flavor profile was amazing.  Jamie and Holly share some recipes that will show off the complexity of the Amaro. You can find some recipes here. I strongly recommend the Shakerato!

This woman owned business has their roots deep in the philosophy of giving back to the community. You will hear about their Non-Profit partners and how they help empower women.

I enjoyed my time with Jamie and Holly and I know you will enjoy this episode as well.  Cheers!
