Visiting Fortuity Cellars for Wine Tasting in Ellensburg

Visiting Ellensburg for Wine and Art

Ellensburg, Washington may be best known for its annual rodeo. Yet, the city recently celebrated twenty-five years of monthly art walks. It also has a burgeoning wine scene! In fact, wine and art come together at the Fortuity Cellars and Nuwave shared space that is a distinctive tasting room and art gallery combined. Plus, there are three other wine tasting rooms within walking distance on the same block.

Ellensburg is conveniently located where I-82 and I-90 intersect, so it was an easy stop on our way back to Seattle from a weekend in Yakima.

Visiting Fortuity Cellars

The newest tasting room from Emily and Lee Fergestrom of Fortuity Cellars opened in the town’s historic district in 2023. The collaboration with artist friend, Erin Oostra, offers guests an appealing and unique experience.

The vibe of the space is easygoing and relaxed with exposed brick walls, wine barrel tables, comfortable seating and of course, art hanging on the walls. Feeling crafty? Purchase an art kit, have a seat at the Creative Table, and let your artistic instincts take over.

Of course, you’re in good hands here when it comes to wine. Tasting room associates get extensive training and the wines have received much acclaim since Lee and Emily founded their winery in 2017. Order a tasting of five wines from the dazzling Fortuity lineup. Or select a bottle if you’re meeting up with friends and settling in to create your own work of art.

Fortuity Cellars Giving Back

The Fergestroms are committed to giving back to the community through their “Fortuity Gives” philanthropy program. This can be found at the tasting room in the form of a bottle adorned with custom artwork by Oostra. Five dollars from each bottle sold will be given to a local Kittitas County nonprofit.

Additionally, Nuwave features a one-of-a-kind community art wall where guests can donate their own work. Customers may buy a work of art from the wall for $10 and Oostra donates proceeds to a local non-profit.
