There’s a stunning new venue in Seattle, brimming with vibrant plants, cacti, fruiting trees, and the dreamiest light. Naturally, it’s called The Seattle Greenhouse. Here, you can schedule a truly unique experience — whether it be a photoshoot (think: engagement/wedding photos, family portraits, lifestyle shoot for business owners), indoor picnic, portrait painting session, or even a place for a special occasion gathering. Future plans include overnight stays, as they expand their secondary building with plumbing and an additional dressing area.
Located in the Beacon Hill neighborhood, The Seattle Greenhouse is tucked within a private residence owned by creatives Sommer-Rae and her husband Eric — they are gracious hosts, thinking of everything that you may need for your time there. The main greenhouse offers the most welcoming vignettes amongst the vast and impressive display of plants: a large vintage couch, a tile-adorned statement fireplace, and an elevated bathtub that they will happily fill with water if you wish to be submerged in a bath for relaxation or for a photo-op (I chose to get in the tub while it was dry, and it was still a fun experience!)
Seamlessly blending with the greenhouse is the equally inviting outdoor space. This includes a fire-pit area with white Adirondack chairs upon a custom stone patio, a charming, rustic table tucked along the metal & wood fence, and a stunning green hedge that leads to the newer secondary building. These additional spaces offer a variety of locations to shoot images or to intertwine with an intimate event.
Follow The Seattle Greenhouse
The Seattle Greenhouse is also incredibly fun to follow on social media (Sommer-Rae runs their accounts), and as a newer venue, they bring you along their journey as small business owners and creatives. Their account is sure to inspire, as they regularly feature updates about their beautiful garden, greenhouse events/bookings, home projects, and classes they teach.
Visiting The Seattle Greenhouse is truly a unique and exciting experience and you’ll likely be ready to schedule your next visit as soon as you leave — I know I am!
