What Is the Washington State Discover Pass?
The Discover Pass is required for vehicle access to Washington state parks and many state-managed recreation areas overseen by the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and the Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife (WDFW).
As of October 1, 2025, the pass costs:
- $45 annually
- $10 for a day-use pass
It’s valid for one year from purchase and it’s transferable between two vehicles. Just place it on your windshield when parking at trailheads, boat launches, and other state lands.
