A Stay At TimberCreek

If you have ever perused Instagram or Pinterest and looked longingly at the serene, picturesque cabins in the woods, we’ve found the spot for you! If you’re in Washington, or thinking of visiting, let me introduce you to the TimberCreek Cabin.

Nestled just 25 minutes from Stevens Pass, just over an hour (or 57 miles) from Seattle, and a short hour drive to the Bavarian town of Leavenworth is this lush 3-acre property. This charming three-bedroom, two-bath house sleeps eight people, and allows up to two dogs! We love dog-friendly stays, never leave the dogs behind!

Upon arrival my fiancé Aaron, myself, and our dog Riley couldn’t help but explore the grounds before even entering the house. It was a perfect warm summer evening, and the river was calling our name. Around the right side of the cabin, the backyard was filled with beautiful native plants and lush green grass, with the most perfect little pathway down to a private spot on the river. After exploring a bit of the yard we decided to go see the inside of the cabin.

Opening up the door you enter into the beautiful cabin, complete with a rustic antler chandelier, the coziest living room with expansive window, and a large stone fireplace. We were happily surprised to find a record player and a mixture of albums; including one of our favorites, Lord Huron! It was such a fun treat to have it playing while cooking in the evenings! We stayed here at the end of July and it was gorgeous, but I imagine it has the best cozy vibes in the fall or winter too! From the living room there is a full kitchen stocked with anything needed to make your stay comfortable and to cook whatever your heart desires (naturally we chose “gourmet” mac and cheese and wine, because we are adults and we can). The back porch off of the kitchen is the sweetest place to kick back and enjoy the sights and sounds of the river, plug in the bistro lights and simply enjoy the peaceful surroundings with a glass of wine or your favorite tea.

Throughout the rest of the house you will find a large bathroom, complete with washer and dryer. Further down the hallway is the master bedroom with a memory foam king sized bed facing the river. The details in this cabin make every corner unique and special, there’s something so beautiful about the vintage details, array of books, and outdoor elements at every turn.

Upstairs you can walk along holding the natural wood branch banister and enter into the coziest reading nook made of two twin beds (hello extra sleeping!). It would be perfect for kids or cousins wanting to have a sleepover. You’ll find a great assortment of board games available in this space for lots of fun memory making, down time, or just more play options for kids. Riley loved this cozy spot, she’s a big fan of river views.

There is a beautiful bathroom in this space as well. On either side of the cozy nook there are bedrooms, one with a swing chair (perfect for that morning cup of coffee!) and on the other is a canvas hammock. Both of these are such fun additions that truly make this cabin a childhood dream come true. I may or may not have enjoyed getting lost in my book while enjoying them both. As I said before, there is magic in every corner at this cabin.

Once you’ve toured the inside, make sure to jump back out and visit the adorable cottage for another little reading space… or quiet area if you’re traveling with a group. This cottage was perfect, with twinkling lights (though we didn’t turn them on while there) rugs and comfortable chairs and cushions. The exposed beams and old windows give the cottage a true charm, like an upgraded playhouse. Perfect in its simplicity. There are so many cozy nooks at Timbercreek Cabin it would take weeks to enjoy each one to its full potential! At every turn there are new surprising things to enjoy, relax into, and bring you back to your roots.

One of our favorite spots (and Riley’s too!) were the looping trails through the rest of the property, if you’re lucky you’ll find the tire swing near the river! There’s bridges, and small “tunnels” of overhanging, moss-covered branches. It’s a magical fairyland. At first we were concerned about all the twists and turns but quickly realized they loop back to the cabin and connect at some point or another. Riley loved running through the trails, chasing squirrels and just being able to roam. Wandering through the trees was the most beautiful “tree therapy” we’ve gotten in quite awhile. Be sure to stop and listen to the wind in the leaves, and the sound of the rushing river and breathe it all in.

For an added bit of adventure we drove the half mile down the road to Eagle Falls, a gorgeous location for swimming in turquoise waters, letting Riley swim, and watching others cliff jump into the water or use the giant rope swing to cool off in the waters. It’s within walking distance of the cabin but we opted for a quick drive down the road instead just to be safe. We also decided to drive down to the Whistling Post Saloon in nearby Skykomish to grab a cider and see the small old town. We even got to play some ping pong while we were at it!

Overall our stay at Timbercreek Cabin was one all three of us would highly recommend to anyone looking for a getaway. Modern and rustic style, with the comfort and charm of walking into your grandparents home. Perfect for families or couples in all seasons, with plenty to enjoy indoors, and explore outdoors, this truly is a magical spot on the river.

  2. […] Timber Creek Cabin is situated on three private riverfront acres (talk about a selling point), with access to walking trails, large fire pit, orchard and riverfront lawn. This is a great stay for those (again, meaning me) who want to bring friends or family along as they have three bedrooms and two bathrooms.  […]
