About This Course: South Everett’s Par 72 in the Firs

Walter Hall Golf Course is the City of Everett’s par 72 on Casino Road in south Everett, set inside Walter E. Hall Park and named for the man who ran the city’s parks for nearly two decades. The reason to play it is a full length municipal round with four par 5s, a forest setting and views the course says reach the Olympic and Cascade ranges, with reference green fees from $33.

The City of Everett owns and maintains the course, and Premier Golf Centers manages it. Four sets of tees run from 5,146 to 6,403 yards on the scorecard, the Breezeway Cafe pours local microbrews after the round, and the course is open all year except Christmas Day.

Course Overview

The name runs deep in Everett parks history. Walter E. Hall became parks superintendent in 1938, after his brother Oden, and served until his death in 1956. His son John held the job until 1972, the year the city dedicated a new park at 1226 Casino Road on May 27 and John named it for his father. The course calls itself a favorite of Pacific Northwest golfers since 1972, and the park around it is also a south Everett spot for skating and soccer.

On the card, Walter Hall is a balanced par 72: four par 5s, four par 3s and ten par 4s, with 36 on each side. The front nine is the longer half at 3,271 yards from the Black tees against 3,132 on the back. The par 5s run 480 to 521 yards and the par 3s 180 to 226, while four par 4s sit between 312 and 342 yards, so wedges matter as much as length. The pace goal is four to four and a quarter hours.

• Hole 2, 521 yards, par 5: The longest hole on the course and the number 1 handicap hole for both men and women. Plan it as three shots.
• Hole 3, 226 yards, par 3: The longest par 3, right after the hardest hole.
• Hole 4, 467 yards, par 4: The longest par 4 on the card and the number 3 handicap.
• Hole 9, 480 yards, par 5: The shortest par 5 closes the front nine. A good drive makes it reachable for longer hitters.
• Hole 11, 508 yards, par 5: The number 2 handicap hole for men. Position the second shot for a full wedge.
• Hole 13, 312 yards, par 4: The shortest par 4 on the course.
• Hole 15, 494 yards, par 5: The last par 5 and the number 4 handicap hole.
• Hole 17, 180 yards, par 3: The number 18 handicap hole, the easiest on the card and a chance to pick up a stroke late.

Amenities and Practice

The golf shop stocks apparel and equipment and offers rental clubs, USGA handicap service and custom club fitting with club purchases. It opens about 15 minutes before the first tee time and closes at dusk, when all carts must be in.

Head Professional Cameron Nix leads the teaching staff. A private one hour lesson is $85 for adults and $50 for juniors, a series of five one hour lessons is $350 and $200, and group lessons are offered too. Power carts are $19 per rider for 18 holes and $14 for 9, a single rider cart is $30 with tax, pull carts are $9, and rental clubs are $25 for a standard set or $40 for a premium set.

The Olympic View Room hosts banquets and outings of up to 150 guests.

Food and Drink

The Breezeway Cafe serves burgers, sandwiches, salads, snacks and grab and go food, with breakfast items on the menu all day, local microbrews on tap and a full bar. Call 206-709-5207 to order ahead for pickup. Outside alcohol and coolers are not allowed on the property.

Rates, Tee Times and Local Tips

These are the 2026 peak season reference rates, posted for March 1 through October 31, 2026, read from the course’s rate page on October 4. Weekdays, 18 holes are $41, 9 holes $33, early bird $33, twilight $33, super twilight $25, and seniors 60 and over and military $34. Weekends and holidays, 18 holes are $46, 9 holes $36, twilight $36 and super twilight $25. Juniors 8 to 18 pay $23 on weekdays and on weekends after noon; players must be at least 8, and 12 to play without an adult. Dynamic pricing can move the price you book up or down with demand, and every green fee adds a $3 Golf Facility Improvement Fee, sales tax and the city admissions tax.

Winter reference rates take over from November 1, 2026 through February 28, 2027: 18 holes $36 on weekdays and $40 on weekends, and 9 holes $31. During daylight saving time, the $10 Loop lets you play 4 to 6 holes in the last hour to hour and a half of the day.

How to Score Here

• Get through holes 2 through 4 without a big number. They are the longest par 5, the longest par 3 and the longest par 4 in a row.
• Take your chances on the short par 4s, holes 1, 6, 7 and 13, with a club that leaves a full wedge.
• Lay up to a number on the par 5s. Three of the four sit between 480 and 508 yards, so a smart second shot sets up birdie.
