Better Living Through Coffee

Better Living Through Coffee is the cafe half of a two part business. Michael LeDonna owns it and is also the roastmaster at Port Townsend Coffee Roasting Co. on East Park Avenue, and the cafe is where every drip coffee and both espressos from that roastery can be tasted. All of it is fair trade and organic. The blends carry names like Loop d' Loop, Dante's Tornado and Caffe Arancia.

The drink to know is the Caffe Chetzemocha, a mocha built on cocoa and chipotle peppers. The baking is done in house: pastries, quiches in spinach, sausage and salmon, a vegetarian tamale pie and organic cookies, and the kitchen has leaned toward soaked grain baked goods and house kombucha.

The building sits on the waterfront on Tyler Street next to a public beach plaza, with outdoor seating on the open air plaza and a level entry with a small ramp. The Seattle Times has pointed readers here in its Port Townsend guides, and Cascadia Daily News put it in a June 2026 day trip.

Hours are Thursday through Monday 7:30 to 5, with a short day on Tuesday and Wednesday that ends at noon.
