Pine Crest Golf Course is a 9 hole par 3 course on NW 143rd Street in Vancouver, built by Patrick and Mary Hart on land overlooking Salmon Creek and run by the Hart family since it opened on July 15, 1967. The reason to go is simple: nine real par 3 holes from 77 to 170 yards, a full round for $17 on a weekday, and an iron game workout.

The course calls itself a long par 3 that will challenge an experienced golfer while staying friendly for a beginner learning the game. You can tee off from grass or from mats on every hole, and a practice green and a driving cage sit behind the clubhouse.

Course Overview

Patrick and Mary Hart built Pine Crest on a scenic piece of property overlooking Salmon Creek and opened it on July 15, 1967. The family has run it ever since, and the current managers, Mark and Kathleen Hart, describe their job as carrying on the same idea: an affordable round of golf for Clark County on a well kept course. Several other Clark County courses have closed in recent years, and the Harts have used their own website to put down rumors that Pine Crest was one of them. It is still open.

The nine holes add up to 1,171 yards. Two short holes open the round at 77 and 81 yards, then the card stretches out: four of the next five holes run 140 yards or longer, topped by the 165 yard 6th and the 170 yard 7th, before two holes in the mid 120s bring you home. That spread means you will hit everything from a wedge to a long iron or hybrid in one loop. The course map shows Salmon Creek along the east edge of the property, a fence marking out of bounds along the north side, and a canyon just south of the pro shop.

• Hole 4, 155 yards, par 3: The tee also sits near the north fence, and the hole asks for a full mid iron.
• Hole 6, 165 yards, par 3: The second longest hole, with a bunker drawn beside the green on the course map.
• Hole 7, 170 yards, par 3: The longest hole at Pine Crest. Take enough club to get all the way there.
• Hole 8, 125 yards, par 3: Runs along the edge of the canyon on the course map, a short iron to a green set beside it.
• Hole 9, 126 yards, par 3: The closing hole, with a bunker beside the green on the map.

Amenities and Practice

Practice is simple: a practice green and a driving cage behind the clubhouse, good for loosening up before the first tee. On the course, every hole lets you choose between a grass tee and a mat.

Check in at the front door of the clubhouse, where you can buy drinks, golf balls and other merchandise. Pine Crest does not rent clubs, so bring your own set, but pull carts are available to rent. The course posts no lesson program.

Rates, Tee Times and Local Tips

These are the rates on the course’s own rates page, which match the prices on its live online booking page as of October 4, 2026. The page names no season, so treat them as the 2026 rates. On weekdays, a round is $17, seniors 60 and over pay $14, juniors pay $12, and a second nine is $10. On weekends, a round is $18, juniors pay $13, and a second nine is $11. The junior rate covers ages 10 to 15, 16 and 17 year olds with a student ID, and 8 to 10 year olds in the course’s certification program.

Book through Pine Crest’s online booking page or call 360-573-2051. When you book online you pay for one golfer, and the rest of your group pays at the clubhouse. Tee times open March 1 for the season and are required at the busiest times; walk ins are welcome as space allows, but groups with a tee time get priority. Groups are capped at four. Children under 8 are not allowed on the course, and 8 to 10 year olds may come only if they are golfing. Cancel two hours or more ahead to be eligible for a refund.

The course posts daily hours of 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., seven days a week, and says hours can change with the weather. Pine Crest closes for snow, frost and high winds and tee times may be rescheduled or refunded during a delay or closure, so call ahead on cold mornings.

How to Score Here

• Know your carry numbers from 75 to 170 yards before you arrive. Pine Crest tests nearly every one of them.
• Bank the two wedges on holes 1 and 2. They are your best birdie chances of the day.
• Club up on holes 6 and 7. At 165 and 170 yards they are the longest on the card.
• Pick grass or mat tees on purpose. The grass tees are the closer match to a regular course if you are tuning up for one.
