Woods Coffee Renton

Woods opened this store on July 6, 2026, and set it up for the commute rather than the mall. Of the two dozen Woods locations trading today, only eight stay open past 6 PM and only four in King County have a drive through. Renton is on both lists, which makes it a different proposition from the Bellevue Square and Lincoln Square stores that keep shopping center hours.

The weekday open is 4:30 AM. That is the single most useful fact about the place if you are heading south before dawn, and it is hours earlier than any independent coffee in Renton manages. Weekends start at 5:30 and every day runs to 8 PM.

Woods roasts its own coffee and runs its own bakery, and the pastry case is baked from scratch and delivered to the stores daily rather than arriving frozen. The blended drinks are where the chain built its name: the Avalanche and the Mudslide, plus Rush, their own energy drink, and a salted caramel cold brew. Food goes further than pastry, through breakfast croissant sandwiches, a sausage and cheddar biscuit, breakfast and Santa Fe veggie burritos, egg bites, a grilled cheese and a pizza twist.

It is a family owned Whatcom County business that Wes Herman started in Bellingham, now roughly two dozen stores across Whatcom, Skagit, Snohomish and King counties. There is a fireplace and free wifi, though this one does not carry the meeting space setup some of the larger Woods stores have.
