The Loft Bakeshop and Cafe

The Loft is the big room in downtown Everett's coffee lineup and it is built for staying. Lots of tables, comfortable chairs, and enough outlets that you are not competing with anyone for the one good seat, which is the actual reason people pick it over the busier shops a few blocks away. They pour Fidalgo, a solid regional roaster out of Burlington, and the cold brew is the easy going option if you are pacing yourself across a few stops in one morning. New owners took over about a year ago and now bake everything on site, so the pastry case is worth looking at rather than walking past.

This is the remote work pick in downtown Everett, and not by default. The combination of table space, seating you can sit in for two hours, and outlets on the walls is genuinely uncommon among the shops nearby, most of which are built around a counter and a short visit.

It also sits in a good block for making an afternoon of it. You are steps from Sunken Ship tattoo, a local natural grocery, and the Obsidian taproom. Parking downtown is easy and mostly free. The one thing to plan around is the same as everywhere else here: it closes in the afternoon, so arrive in the morning if you want the full pastry case.
