Owner Shirlee Jones bakes the pastry case herself every morning in a small cafe tucked into Sycamore Square, an 1890s Fairhaven building with an indoor courtyard and a fountain. The whole menu can be made gluten free.

Shirlee Jones bakes the pastries fresh each morning and makes the tomato preserves, arugula pesto and olive tapenade that go on the sandwiches, with the day's list chalked on a blackboard instead of a printed menu. Vegan and vegetarian options run deep and the entire menu can be made gluten free. When Jones opened a second Bellingham location in December 2022 she took over the former Black Drop Coffeehouse space and put Black Drop's original espresso machine back to work. The espresso is a house blend she calls Bird Blend, roasted locally.
