Red Door Coffee Roasters

Red Door has been selling coffee in Everett since December 2012, which makes it one of the longer running independents in a city whose coffee scene mostly arrived after it. Thirteen years is the sort of run that says something a rating cannot.

What makes it genuinely useful is that it does not force a choice. There is a drive through window and there is indoor seating with room to sit, which is rare enough locally to be the reason to put it on a list. Most places in this directory are one or the other: a stand you pull up to, or a room you settle into. This is both, so it works whether you are running late for the drive down I-5 or you have an hour and something to read.

Its one piece of outside recognition is real but small, and the wording matters. In 2016 Live in Everett ran a reader voted poll for the city's best coffee shop. Narrative won it. Red Door took an honorable mention alongside Bargreen's and Bookend Coffee. That poll ran once and has never run again, so it is a snapshot of 2016 rather than a current ranking.

It sits on Hardeson Road in south Everett, in a plaza with parking right in front rather than on a walkable downtown block, so this is a destination or a waypoint rather than one stop on a stroll. Reported hours open at 6am on weekdays, which is hours earlier than anything downtown and makes it the option for an early start out of town.
