Naomi Joe Coffee Roasters

Naomi Joe is a coffee bar inside a brewery. Kyle Willingham built it into the 7 Seas Brewing taproom on Jefferson Avenue, roasting in house where customers can watch it happen, and the cafe opened there in March 2023 after he had been roasting and selling since 2021. The name is not a person behind the counter, it is his late grandparents, Naomi and Joe.

The roasting leans light, in the Nordic direction, and the coffees carry names rather than only origins: Everyday Joe, Disco Juice, Big Joe as the working coffee, Zero Proof for decaf, plus La Joya, Watermelon Gummy and Watermelon Crush. It roasts wholesale too, and Third Space downtown pours it, which is the easiest way to taste it without walking into a taproom.

The bar is unusually specific for an operation this size: two Decent Espresso DE1 Pro XXL machines and a Versalab M4 grinder, single dosed. Cups, lids, straws and coffee bags are all compostable. Seating is the taproom's own communal area, open and shared, so this is somewhere to spread out rather than a quiet corner to work in.

Hours are listed as 8am to 5pm seven days, but the shop has posted an hours update of its own that could not be read, so confirm before a special trip, and remember that practical access tracks the taproom. The same building carries Canteen by Camp Colvos, a smash burger operation, so coffee is not the only reason to end up in there.
