Maple Valley Highway, Renton, Washington
The Renton outpost of a North Bend company pouring coffee since 1990. The Twin Peaks latte, honey and lavender, is the drink their own menu says people have driven across the state for, and here you can order it from the car.
Huxdotter started in 1990 as Cascade Espresso, a cart outside what is now the Ace Hardware in North Bend, and the name it trades under is Swedish for daughter of Hux. The Twin Peaks latte is the piece of that history you can taste: honey and lavender, a nod to the show filmed around the company's hometown, and the drink their own menu calls the one people have driven across the state for.
The coffee is the Huxdotter Blend, roasted for them by Dillanos in Sumner, who list Huxdotter as a cafe partner and sell the blend plus a certified organic North Fork and a decaf under the Huxdotter name. Tea is Steven Smith and the chai is Black Scottie, brewed locally. Alongside the espresso sits Hux Energy, their own energy drink line, with Baja Breeze marked as the best seller and about fifteen other builds behind it.
Food here is the drive through menu rather than the full cafe one. The Iron Horse breakfast sandwich is sausage, fried egg and cheddar on an English muffin, and the Mama Mozz omelette melt is the vegetarian counterpart with fresh mozzarella, Mama Lil's peppers and garlic aioli. There are Lumberjack and Mount Si breakfast burritos, Seattle Bagel Bakery bagels, and Cuban, Moroccan turkey and smokey chicken bacon melts at lunch.
Jeremy Westlake owns it and four stands are open, all in King County, with Black Diamond due in fall 2026. Set your expectations for the format: the fifty seat cafe with the patio is North Bend, and Renton is a drive through window on Highway 169, open 5 AM to 7 PM on weekdays and 6 to 7 at weekends.
