Beware Coffee

Beware runs a five day week. It is closed Monday and Tuesday and open 7am to 3pm Wednesday through Sunday, one of the shortest schedules in the Tacoma directory. It holds 384 reviews at 4.9 anyway, and a shop that gives back two days a week and keeps that kind of standing is worth a look on the days it is open.

It is easy to spot. The exterior is bright mint green and the interior a warm creamy yellow, on a residential corner at 3562 E McKinley Avenue on the Eastside, well away from the downtown and Proctor clusters where most of Tacoma's coffee sits. There is room inside to work or to meet someone rather than just to order and leave.

Pastries are on the counter. Beyond that the public record is genuinely thin: the shop's website is effectively a splash page with no menu and no about section, and no published source names a roaster, an owner or a house drink. This entry does not invent any of them.

So treat Beware as a neighborhood find rather than a destination with a known story. Check the day before you drive over, because closing Monday and Tuesday catches people out, and the 3pm close makes it a morning and lunchtime room.
