Wild Hemlock

Wild Hemlock

Shop Anacortes, WA

Wild Hemlock is run by Kali and Justen Berg, who moved to Anacortes in 2010. Kali founded the knitwear label Isola Handmade Originals and hand knits everything woolen in the shop. Justen is a lieutenant and paramedic for the city, plays snare in the Snohomish County Pipes and Drums, and does the screen printing.

That printing happens on site, which is why the apparel wall turns over so often. Around it sit houseplants, jewelry, candles, art prints and greeting cards, knitting kits and needles, and work from Pacific Northwest makers including Nikki McClure prints, Elizabeth Person panoramas and Tori Tornado stickers, plus a deep Fidalgo souvenir line.

Out front is the Fidalgo Little Free Fibrary, which Kali started in 2024. It works like a little free library except the shelves hold leftover yarn, notions and instruction books. Take a skein, leave a skein, and try something you would never have bought.
