Squak Mt. Greenhouses & Nursery

Squak Mt. Greenhouses & Nursery occupies ten acres in the valley floor between Squak Mountain and Cougar Mountain, about a mile off I-90, with Tibbetts Creek running through the property and a waterfall the nursery built out of more than two hundred tons of rock. It describes itself as local, independent and family owned, with more than thirty years of trading on the Eastside behind it.

A full acre of that ground is under glass, and the greenhouses are growing rather than just holding stock: primroses, geraniums, fuchsia baskets, begonias, mums, pansies and poinsettias come up on site and move out front by season. The rest of the yard runs to shrubs, trees, perennials, roses, herbs, vines, ground covers and ornamental grasses, with over a thousand trees in the ground at any time.

It also runs as a teaching yard. Visit Issaquah lists gardening classes for children, organic lawn care workshops, master gardener clinics and a holiday open house on its calendar through the year. Open 9 AM to 5 PM Monday through Saturday, closed Sunday. Bring a vehicle you do not mind loading.
