La Crema Patisserie sits in the Fairwood Square Shopping Center on 140th Avenue Southeast in Renton, and it made a name for itself fast. Renton Reporter readers voted it Best Bakery in 2025, then in 2026 gave it best bakery, best coffee shop and cafe and best customer service, plus a tie for best sandwiches. Owners Donna and Steve Wong also founded The Red Tea Room, the Renton catering company Donna started in 2006 as a dessert business.
The case leans French and Italian: pastries, authentic Italian gelato and espresso. Whole cakes and desserts take three business days' notice by phone, and the list reads like a dessert menu, with a poached almond pear tart, a chocolate silk pie made with Luker chocolate, a tiramisu cake, a passion fruit white chocolate cake and the house raspberry chocolate cake.
The shop also rents out gelato for events and sells gift cards. It is open Wednesday through Saturday from 9 to 6 and Sunday from 9 to 4, and closed Monday and Tuesday. It is an easy stop in the Fairwood neighborhood of southeast Renton, whether for a pastry and an espresso or a cake for the weekend.
