Firehouse Axes

The old fire station on upper Main Street was leased to a brewery when Amy Philip first called about it in 2021. She already ran paradigmQ Escape Games and Escape Games PDX, and nothing else she looked at was as good a room for what she had in mind, so when the For Lease sign went back up a year later she toured it the next day. Firehouse Axes is what came of it, Vancouver's first stand alone axe house.

Lanes are booked by the thrower, end grain targets with projected games, and everyone ten and up is welcome with closed toe shoes and a willingness to listen to the coach. Around the lanes it runs as a proper bar and kitchen: paninis, sheet pan nachos, a Cubano, wings, brulee donuts, local beer and cocktails named for the room, with leagues, parties and a kids axe academy on the calendar.

Open every day, from two on Monday through Wednesday and from eleven the rest of the week. Reserve a lane ahead; walk ins wait when it is busy.
