De Asian

De Asian is a sushi bar and Thai Japanese fusion restaurant at 1506 Commercial Avenue, opened in January 2023 by Sittichok Taweeplengsangsuk and Jantarat Aranyabhumi and moved to this larger room after its first year. Chef Art brings more than twenty years of Japanese cooking, and the owners' travels in Japan shaped the menu.

That menu runs both directions at once: nigiri, sashimi and rolls on one side, ramen, Japanese curry, yakisoba and teriyaki on another, and pad Thai and Thai curries alongside them, with fusion plates like a Tom Yum ramen where the two meet. The Caterpillar Roll and salmon nigiri are the house names, and the bar pours sake and Asian inspired cocktails, the Lychee Martini chief among them.

It was a Best of Anacortes nominee for Asian food in 2024. Open daily from noon, until 10 most nights and midnight on Fridays and Saturdays, with a weekday happy hour in the afternoon. Large parties fit, kids are welcome, and sushi party platters can be ordered for home.
