Davenport Coffee

Davenport is a family owned shop in Uptown Gig Harbor that does not quite fit the category it files under. Its own banner reads gourmet coffee, wine and taproom, and the wine list is specific and mostly Washington. Waterbrook Reserve cabernet, Le'cole chardonnay, Basel Cellars merlot, Latah Creek pinot grigio out of the Yakima Valley, Tamarack Firehouse Red.

The coffee is custom roasted for the shop, with a signature espresso blend, cold brew and nitro on the board. The kitchen names avocado toast and the made to order waffle as its own favorites. There is also the Davenport Pretzel, rock salt and garlic butter with spicy mustard or cheese sauce, and an almond croissant worth arriving for.

Doors are open seven until four, which is the part worth understanding. Evenings run as private bookings from six until nine, capped at forty people, with a beverage host on site and no rule against bringing your own food. Harbor Greens next door stays open until eight if you have not thought that far ahead. Dogs are welcome outside.
