Cloudburst Brewing on Shilshole

Cloudburst opened its second home in August 2020 at the Ballard end of Shilshole Avenue, a covered and heated beer garden with an indoor tasting room behind it. Where the original on Western Avenue is a working brewery with a bar in it, Shilshole is built for sitting: all ages, a food truck out front, and a full wall of canned beer to go.

The beer is the same hop forward lineup Steve Luke built after leaving Elysian, brewed downtown and driven over, with a taplist that turns over fast enough that the board is written on butcher paper. Dogs are welcome inside and out, water bowls are kept full, and the treats are made from the brewery's own spent grain by The Brewmaster's Bakery, which regulars' dogs treat as their version of a pint.

Cloudburst became part of Yakima's Bale Breaker Brewing in May 2026, a friendly sale between two breweries that have made a wet hop beer together every fall since 2014. Nothing about the room changed. Open seven days from 2 PM, noon on weekends.
