White Oak Books opened in November 2023 in Vancouver's Uptown Village, a woman owned, all inclusive independent bookstore from Sara Smith-Glavin and Peter Glavin. Within two years it was voted Best Bookstore in Clark County, which for a shop that young says most of what needs saying.
The shelves are general interest with strong staff picks, and the calendar is the store's engine: Wednesday and Thursday night book clubs, a First Editions club, a Romantasy club, a Queer Youth club, a summer romance club, a monthly story time, author events, and midnight release parties for the big titles. There is a consignment program for local authors, and audiobooks and ebooks through the store's site so online purchases still land here.
Open seven days, ten to seven Monday through Saturday and ten to six on Sunday, across the street from Relevant Coffee.
