Dandelion Teahouse and Apothecary

Marianne Wilson Stein started making lotions and bath salts as Christmas gifts for a naturopath friend, taught herself from a shelf of herbal books, sold online from 2001 and at the Vancouver Farmers Market from 2008, and began blending her own teas about a decade ago. In 2020 she won the very first Launchpad competition run by Vancouver's Downtown Association, which put a market vendor into a downtown storefront. Dandelion Teahouse opened on West 7th Street in May 2021 with her daughter Kat back from a decade in Philadelphia to run it.

It is a teahouse first, with house blended herbal and traditional teas served in the room and sold loose, and an apothecary second, with the body care line that started it all. The space was built as an inclusive community room as much as a shop, and it hosts gatherings, classes and markets alongside the tea.

On the first of January 2026 Dandelion became a nonprofit, with Kat Stein as executive director and Marianne president of the board, so the teahouse can do more of the community work the two of them wanted it for from the start.
