Nelson's Market has served the York neighborhood since 1895, eight years before Bellingham was even incorporated. It has been a meat market, a cafe, and by its own description a stationary float in the parade of life, and today it runs as both a historic corner store and a casual restaurant.
The kitchen's chicken and waffles have made the old grocery a breakfast destination, but the point of Nelson's is the neighborhood itself. The sign says it: the neighborhood is waiting for you.
