About

This is the mothership. Since 2016 the back half of the building on Lakeway Drive has held the Woods roastery, a 35 kilo Loring roaster and a 300 gallon cold brew system, and the cafe side has a tasting bar and a seating area a few steps from the roasting floor. Woods is a Lynden family company, started in 2002 by Wes and Diane Herman and their four kids, and it still roasts its own coffee and bakes its own pastries for about two dozen stores. The Lakeway store opened in 2013 in a former Sambo's, just east of I-5 across from Fred Meyer, with a salvaged wood ceiling, old barn hardware and padded booths by the fireplace. It also keeps the longest hours of any Woods in town: the drive through opens at 4:30 AM Monday through Saturday and the doors stay open until 8 PM.
