Historic Downtown Chelan and Riverwalk Park
Downtown Chelan fills with classic muscle cars, coupes, trucks, and custom builds for the 20th Annual Cruizin Chelan. The show runs along the main street, vendors and food trucks fill in around the cars, and live music runs at Riverwalk Park on the waterfront. The lake is a short walk from the show field. If you are coming from the west side, plan to stay a night and use it as a proper Chelan weekend.

Ocean Park, Long Beach Peninsula
The 42nd annual Rod Run draws hundreds of restored classics to Ocean Park on the Long Beach Peninsula, with free admission, a swap meet worth hunting for parts, and a community cruise through the peninsula. Most Dramatic Setting
October 3, 2026
Maryhill Museum of Art, Goldendale — Columbia River Gorge
The Maryhill Museum sits on a basalt bluff directly above the Columbia River on WA Route 14, with unobstructed sight lines across the Gorge into Oregon. The Concours de Maryhill attracts over 200 cars of a wide variety, with trophies awarded based on voting by car show entrants. Entry is $20 and includes two admission tickets to the museum. Spectators attend free. The event is also a benefit for veterans.
Popular Vote — 200+ CarsWestern Washington accounts for roughly two thirds of the shows on this list. The season runs April through October, with the heaviest concentration in May, June, and July. Cruise nights in the Seattle and Tacoma areas often run weekly through the summer. Expect more muscle cars and imports mixed in with the classics.
Eastern Washington car culture runs hotter and drier. The Tri-Cities, Yakima, Spokane, and Walla Walla host some of the most authentic shows in the state, with strong turnout from Idaho and Oregon. The weather cooperates from mid-June through early October, and shows skew toward full custom builds and American classics.

Practical Advice
The best shows open at 8 or 9 AM. Cars are still being staged, owners are easy to talk to, and the crowds have not arrived yet. An hour before noon is worth three hours after it.
Swap meet sellers almost always prefer it, food trucks frequently require it, and having small bills at vendor booths saves you the awkward card-reader shuffle.
Most people showing their cars are there to share the story. Ask about the restoration, where the car came from, what took longest. You will learn more in an hour than you would in three hours walking past cars silently.
The Rod Run, Cruizin Chelan, Wheelin' Walla Walla, and Cool Desert Nights all draw visitors from across the region. Nearby rooms fill up months out for the big ones. Lock something down before you finalize anything else.
Eastern Washington shows in late September can swing 40 degrees between morning and afternoon. Pacific coast events like the Rod Run can be cool and windy even in September. Layer up and keep the drive comfortable.
Both events have strong family programming with dedicated kids activities. If you are attending with children, these two are the best starting points on the calendar. Making a full weekend out of Goodguys? Tacoma in Two Days has the itinerary.

What is a concours and how is it different from a regular car show?
A concours d'elegance is traditionally a judged competition where vehicles are evaluated for originality, condition, and authenticity rather than customization or performance. Vehicles are typically presented on a manicured setting and assessed by marque experts. Worth noting: Washington's Concours de Maryhill takes its name from that tradition but operates differently. The show draws over 200 cars of a wide variety and awards trophies by popular vote from fellow entrants, not a judging panel. Spectators attend free. It is held October 3, 2026 at the Maryhill Museum of Art in the Columbia River Gorge.
How do I find out about car shows in Washington not on this list?
The Mopars Unlimited Seattle Facebook group maintains one of the most active community-sourced car show lists in the state. Local car clubs in your area are another reliable source. This guide is updated annually. If you know of a show that should be here, reach out.
