Sunland Golf Club Sequim’s Evergreen Escape

Nestled in Sequim’s rain shadow sunshine, Sunland Golf Club offers a pleasantly walkable test framed by Douglas firs and back dropped by the Olympic Mountains. Established in 1963 as the hub of the Sunland residential community, the semi-private club welcomes daily-fee play while preserving a relaxed member atmosphere.

Course Overview

Sunland’s routing rolls over gentle terrain a mile north of U.S. 101. Fairways meander through modest homes set well back from play, while towering firs frame most corridors. Five ponds and a seasonal creek influence approaches on seven holes, yet forced carries are limited, making the course playable for all swing speeds. Greens are modest in size, many canted back-to-front. Longtime superintendent Kevin Aylward keeps them rolling at medium quick speeds year-round thanks to Sequim’s low rainfall. Wind off the Strait of Juan de Fuca can add bite, especially on the elevated 15th tee. Overall, Sunland rewards straight drives and precise wedges more than raw power, perfect for a brisk four hour walk with mountain vistas.

Rates / Booking / Local Tips

  • Green Fees (18 w/ cart): $59 Mon-Thu • $64 Fri–Sun • $45 twilight after 2 p.m.

  • Walking Discount: subtract $15 from any 18 hole rate.

  • Booking Window: public players 7 days; members 14 days.
