Visiting Remlinger Farms

This is not our grandparents Remlinger Farms

I have clear memories of being about 7 or 8 years old and heading out to Remlinger Farms, sitting in the backseat of the car as my grandparents regaled me with stories of their many visits to Remlinger over the years. It was founded in 1965, so for those growing up on the East side of Seattle, chances are, you’ve heard of it! This Washington gem has matured along with the generations of locals, changing and evolving with the times. As such, Remlinger Farms continues to be a favorite, fun, family destination today.

Keeping it in the Family

The farm was founded in 1965 by Floyd and Gary Remlinger and has been operated by the Remlinger family ever since. Nathan Sherfey is 4th generation Remlinger Farms owner, taking over for Gary. It all started as a small U-pick strawberry and pumpkin farm and is now a popular amusement park!

As you walk the grounds, you feel like you’re at the county fair. It’s like you’ve stepped out of the hustle and bustle of the city and are a part of a community of families out to enjoy the day and connect with a simpler time. All the points of nostalgia are represented with the classic Ferris wheel, swing ride, carousel, pony rides, roller coaster, and many more all geared toward young children. At just under an hour from Seattle, it makes for an amazing day trip and escape to the country!

Take it Home!

The farm's Market offers a variety of homemade jams, pies, and other treats, making it a delightful place to find unique souvenirs. Don’t forget to take home a frozen pie! The famous handmade pies are made fresh on the farm and sold throughout the West Coast. My family’s favorite is the Dutch Apple.

The farm covers over 250 acres of land, and the best way to take it all in is by train. Tour the grounds on the whimsical red train Tolt River Railroad Steam Train, pulled by a genuine steam engine. Check out the rides, a multitude of farm animals, concert venue lawn, and beautiful views of the Snoqualmie Valley! It’s a relaxing break, and a good time to plan what you will try next on the farm.

Don't Miss This!

The farm hosts an annual Fall Harvest Festival, where visitors can enjoy activities like corn mazes, hayrides, apple cannons, and picking pumpkins straight from the field.  This is the time of year Remlinger Farms comes to life and is at it’s best!

Can you resist challenging your fear of heights and getting your heart pumping? Climb the bright green tower and launch yourself off side-by-side with a friend or family member and sail over the pond on the zipline. Then bounce around on the other side as they release the tension on the line. You literally cannot help but smile and laugh and will immediately want to go again. I’ve been on many ziplines, but this was the first time I’ve been able to jump at the same time as one of my kids and enjoy it together!

Something for the Adults!

To enhance the fun, Remlinger Farms has now added a Brewery. They feature over 20 brews on tap, including ciders with locally sourced ingredients. I enjoyed a cider sampler and was able to purchase my favorites to take home!

Me too! Right over the hill from us Eastsiders! It’s for sure grown with the times – I’m really excited to return this fall – apparently that’s when it’s just amazing!

Clearly I haven’t been there in WAY too long! I don’t know what an apple cannon is, but I am dying to find out, and while we’re on apples, I will certainly pick up a pie or ten and try out that cider!
    Thanks for the great info!
