The Olympia Seafood Company

Olympia Seafood started in 1999 by selling live crab out the back door, and opened the front door properly in August 2000. It sits downtown on Columbia Street between the Wine Loft and Budd Bay Cafe, and it is a counter rather than a restaurant, the place you go when you plan to cook.

The family behind it fishes. Grandfather and uncles have worked Dungeness crab and wild salmon commercially for more than fifty years and often supply the counter directly, and one of them came off the boats in 2021 to help run the business. Look for whole cooked Dungeness, wild king and sockeye, salmon candy nuggets, halibut cheeks, spot shrimp when the short season lands, oysters by the dozen, and house crab cakes.

Hot clam chowder and shrimp and crab cocktails are ready to carry out on the nights when the cooking can wait.
