Miss Moffett’s Mystical Cupcakes

Rachel Young started baking in 2011 and opened Miss Moffett's the year after, naming it for her great grandmother Rachel Moffett, whose cupcakes were the family measure of a good one. A run on Food Network's Cupcake Wars in 2013 was followed by a first storefront in downtown Olympia, and the bakery now works out of the Tallon Center in Hawks Prairie.

What sets the counter apart is that it runs three kitchens worth of baking at once. Regular, gluten free and keto lines are all made fresh daily, at least ten flavors in each, so a table where everybody eats differently can still order the same round. It is also a peanut safe bakery, the first in Thurston County.

Cupcakes are the name but not the whole story. Macarons, cakes, scones, cookies, brownie bars and pies fill out the case.
