Marguerite is a small independent gift and home shop inside The Showroom on Colville, the old Teague Motor Company building on North Colville Street in downtown Walla Walla that now holds a run of indoor boutiques. Peggy Frasse opened it in 2023 after careers in retail, print production, software startups and residential real estate. She calls herself a lifelong traveler, a fly fisherwoman and a rustic cook, and she writes that France lives in her heart, which is easy to believe once you are through the door.
The shelves hold provisions for the home and the table: olive oil, truffle butter, pasta in unusual shapes, small batch pantry goods, local rosé and other Walla Walla wine, French linens, ceramics from around the world, glassware, candles, perfumes and books. It is the kind of shop where a gift for tonight's dinner host comes together in five minutes. The shop also has a dog, Buddy.
Frasse also builds custom gift boxes, handles corporate gifting and ships anywhere in the country, which keeps the shop useful long after a wine weekend ends. It keeps a short week, open from late morning to late afternoon toward the end of the week with a shorter Sunday, so check before you go. TMACS is in the same building, which makes the two an easy pairing for an afternoon downtown.
