Lake Stevens Brewing Company

Brewery Lake Stevens, WA

Lake Stevens Brewing Company calls itself the first brewery in Lake Stevens. It began as an idea in a garage between three would be brewers, who brewed for five years before going commercial with help from local supporters, donated labor and a Kickstarter, and it opened off Grade Road in December 2016. Jason Parzyk, a Lake Stevens native, and Brock Duerr are the owners and brewers named on its site, and the brewery still brews in memory of founding brewer Cullen Thompson, who died in a car accident.

The brewhouse is a small all electric two barrel system, and the beer names lean on local history: Trainwreck Double IPA for a logging train that went into the lake, and 10 Speed Session IPA for the building's days as a bicycle shop. Hard ciders rotate on too. There is no kitchen; food trucks park on site, or you can order in from local restaurants.

The taproom is small and welcoming, family and dog friendly, and the week has a rhythm: a mug club, a Wednesday run club, trivia on Thursdays with a discount for teachers, and Frontline Sundays. It is open Wednesday through Sunday from the afternoon into the evening and closed Monday and Tuesday. The brewery has also raised money for the food bank, the Boys and Girls Club and the YMCA.
