Ladders Clothing & Co.

Ladders Clothing & Co. opened in downtown Stanwood in 2015. Owner Yvonne Corbett has worked in fashion for more than 25 years, and in 2019 the Stanwood and Camano chambers named her Business Woman of the Year and Ladders their Business of the Year. A second Ladders store followed in La Conner.

The Stanwood store runs to more than 4,000 square feet of women's clothing: tops, bottoms, dresses, jumpsuits and rompers, jackets and coats, shoes, handbags, hats, jewelry and accessories, with some housewares mixed in. The store's own rule is that it never brings in the same item twice, so what is on the rack this week may be gone next month, and that is a large part of the fun of browsing it.

It is open every day, from 11 to 6 Monday through Saturday and from 11 to 4 on Sunday. Pair it with lunch in downtown Stanwood, or make a day of it with the La Conner store a short drive north, where the shops along First Street make an easy afternoon.
