Kris and Kali Kelnero both grew up in Edmonds, both spent their careers behind bars here and in Seattle and for a year in Australia, and in February 2019 they opened their own place on Main Street. It is a room built to feel like a Pacific Northwest forest, with live edge wood tables, a scattering of small side rooms and a deck for the evenings that allow one.
The list is deep. Around fifty house cocktails and something close to seven hundred spirits, including barrels they buy whole and bottle themselves for the old fashioned list. The zero proof section is no afterthought either, with house made shrubs, ginger beer and horchata all doing real work.
Food arrives as small plates, from a cheese ball and deviled eggs through to duck confit and mushrooms cooked in smoked gouda and gin. Twenty one and over, and the piano is often live.
