Ember Goods

Four friends, two couples, could not find the coffee shop they wanted in Olympia, so in the holiday season of 2017 they built it. Ember Goods sits on Washington Street downtown and does two things at once: an espresso bar on one side, and a floor of Pacific Northwest gear, clothing and gifts on the other, with work from local makers in the mix.

They roast their own. When the roaster outgrew the shop they built a cabin for it deep in the woods outside town, which is where every bag now comes from and why the flagship is called Cabin Roast. Trail Mix, Bluebird, Golden Hour and Moonlight fill out the shelf.

The whole place chases campfire nostalgia, right down to the name, and they call the store their basecamp. One percent of sales goes to a rotating cause every month, and a mobile cart takes the coffee out to events.
