Childhood’s End Gallery

Bill and Richenda Richardson opened Childhood's End in 1971, and it has been showing Pacific Northwest art on Fourth Avenue ever since, in the Wright Building, which went up in 1908 at the gateway to downtown Olympia.
More than a hundred American artists and artisans are represented, and everything on the floor has been through a jury. Fine art and printmaking hang alongside ceramics, art glass, jewelry, woodworking, metalwork and home decor, with exhibitions rotating through the year. They will commission custom work, arrange delivery and hanging, wrap gifts and hold pieces on layaway. What they will not do is appraise or resell.
The gallery is a patron sponsor of KAOS, the community radio station at Evergreen, and members who show a current card get two William Winden cards with a purchase. Open Monday through Saturday ten to six and Sunday eleven to five, admission free.
