Caffe Cocina

Caffe Cocina is a green cottage on Finn Hill Road with a red maple out front, and it is the flagship of a small Kitsap coffee company that roasts its own two doors down the street. Eric Mahler runs it. Kitsap Business told the story in December 2025: his mother Sharon, a bank executive and a regular customer, had always wanted a coffeehouse, and after the 2008 crash she and the original owner talked about a handover. Mahler was twenty three and working in banking, stepped in to manage it temporarily in June 2012, and never left.

He rebranded the company in 2014 and pulled roasting in house on 1 April 2019, which is the thing that separates this from most small town cafes: the beans in your cup were roasted a few hundred feet away rather than bought in. The food side is real too, built around sourdough sandwiches and breakfast rather than a pastry case alone, and the wholesale and online business has grown fast enough that the roastery is being expanded.

Open 5:30 AM to 7 PM on weekdays and 7 AM to 6 PM at weekends, which is the earliest opening of any cafe in this directory and genuinely useful if you are catching a ferry. There is a second Poulsbo cafe on Front Street downtown.
