Brassbound Collective

Hailey Glass and John Mainord spent their savings on a small RV in 2019, summered in Cashmere for a few years, then moved in for good. When a friend forwarded them a post about a landlord looking for tenants on the old Railroad Avenue block, they went to look and never left. Brassbound opened in June 2024.

It is a collective rather than a shop with a local shelf. Roughly three dozen makers and vintage sellers fill it, each one tagged with where they come from: leatherwork and pottery out of Cashmere, macrame from Wenatchee, eco printed clothing from Entiat, candles scented after places you can walk to. The line up rotates by season, so it is never quite the same room twice.

Two doors along sit Cashmere Records and Understory Book Shop, run by John and by his sister Mary. All three share a single online basket, which may make this the only place in Washington to buy a record, a novel and a hand thrown mug in one order.
