Ravenna, Seattle, Washington
A coffee bar and neighborhood market on Ravenna Boulevard in a building that opened as a grocery in 1922, pouring Seven's own coffee and Hawaiian beans. A zero waste cafe with Pacific Northwest beer and wine, open 7am to 7pm daily.
Seven sits in a building that first opened as a grocery store in 1922, Seattle Refined reported in January 2023, and the original grocery refrigerators are still in the room. The company's own About page says it started roasting and opened its first cafe in Greenwood in 2006, then moved into this Ravenna building in 2012. Seattle Refined called the shop the go to coffee stop on blocks with no other businesses around it.
The coffee is Seven's own, but it is not roasted here. The company's site lists its roastery at 11846 Des Moines Memorial Drive South, and Seattle Refined said the coffee is roasted in south Seattle. The Hawaii connection shows up on the shelf: through its partner Keala's Hawaiian Coffee the cafe sells a 100% Kona at $59.98 and a Honolulu Hawaiian Blend, and Seattle Refined mentioned a 100% Oahu coffee. The everyday bags include the Diner Blend and the Espresso Huli Blend.
This is a market as much as a cafe. The company's page lists snacks, groceries, pastries from local bakeries, and beer and wine from the Pacific Northwest, so the 7pm close covers a beer and wine run as well as coffee. The cafe calls itself a zero waste cafe, and Seattle Refined described composting everything it can and collecting plastic film for recycling, while noting the pandemic set that goal back.
Hours are 7am to 7pm every day, per the cafe's own page. The roastery address in south Seattle is a production site; nothing on the company's pages says it is open to drop in visitors.
