Downtown, Auburn, Washington
A Pacific Northwest themed coffee room at Auburn Station, with a big leather couch, a fireplace and a full section of grilled cheese on the menu. PNW Coffee Co opens at 5:30am on weekdays, which suits anyone catching a train next door.
PNW Coffee Co sits in the Auburn Station building on 2nd Street Southwest, which the Auburn Reporter placed right by the train station when the cafe held its grand opening and ribbon cutting on May 30, 2019, with then Mayor Nancy Backus on hand. The business had traded as 2 Sisters Espresso before the rename, and this was its second cafe at the time. The first, a drive through in Algona, now shows as permanently closed on Google, so the downtown room is the one to visit.
The drinks list leans into house creations. On the shop's own online ordering menu, the Storm Cloud combines white coffee, white chocolate, lavender and oat milk, and the Golden Hour mixes banana, honey and brown sugar cinnamon syrup with oat milk. Dirty sodas, Italian sodas and Lotus energy drinks fill out the cold side. A 2024 Highline College Thunderword guide to downtown Auburn described a specialty list that changes with themed and seasonal drinks. No source we found names the roaster.
Food is a real part of the visit. The ordering menu runs breakfast burritos, avocado toast and a Bacon Cheddar Sourdough in the morning, then a grilled cheese section with names like the Board Room, the Sea Tac and the Grown Up, plus a Knuckle Sandwich, a Commuter and a Spicy Chicken Quesadilla. The Thunderword guide described plush chairs, a large leather couch anchoring the lobby, a fireplace and woodsy green decor, and photos on the Google listing show a forest and mountain mural carrying the PNW Coffee Co logo above a tufted green couch.
Hours are 5:30am to 6pm Monday through Friday, 7am to 3pm Saturday and 7am to 2pm Sunday. The storefront has a window marked Walk Up for quick orders, and Google lists an accessible entrance, restroom and seating, plus outdoor seating out front. Weekend afternoons end early, so plan a Sunday visit before 2pm.
