Redondo Coffee and Crepes

Redondo is a creperie with a Mexican accent on the espresso board, and the two halves are equally the point. Jesus Alvarez runs it, Spanish and English are both spoken across the counter, and the menu reads accordingly. The Horchata Latte is built on a horchata base with your choice of milk, and a Mexican mocha sits next to it. Coffee arrives with Maria cookies on the side.

Crepes are made to order in front of you, which means a wait, and they go sweet or savory. The Gansito crepe is strawberries, Nutella and an actual Gansito. The Hawaiian is manchego, ham and pineapple. There is a Kinder Bueno crepe with almonds, an Oreo, berry and peach versions, and the Redondo Special with strawberry and condensed milk. Build your own waffles, baguette sandwiches with Serrano ham or roast beef, smoothies and dairy free options round it out.

It is the last unit in a small strip center off Sunset with signage you can walk straight past, and it is worth not doing that. Inside is roomier than the frontage suggests, with large tables, free wifi and a fair number of outlets, which quietly makes it one of the better places to work in the Renton Highlands.

Two honest cautions. It closes at 5 PM every day, so this is a breakfast and lunch shop rather than an evening one. And the room runs cold, so bring a layer if you plan to sit for a while.
