Cabin Creek Sno-Park
Profile
Twenty-one miles of groomed cross-country trails ranging from flat family loops to Mt. Amabilis, which will remind your legs they exist. The south loop is mellow and great for kids or anyone still figuring out how skis work. The north trails are where the serious skiers go—rolling terrain, competitive race courses, and the Wednesday night Headlamp Series where people ski in the dark because apparently that’s fun. Two hundred parking spaces split between a main lot and lower lot. Don’t park on the road between them—it’s posted, and rangers ticket it. No dogs allowed on the groomed tracks, which keeps ski conditions better but annoys people who assumed their dog could come. Primitive winter camping is available for $20/night if you’re into digging out a tent platform in the snow.
Best for: Cross-country skiing (all levels), families, racing enthusiasts
Avoid if: You’re bringing your dog or only want flat terrain
