Hyak Sno-Park
Profile
The closest Sno-Park to Seattle, which means it’s also the most crowded. Heated restrooms, a sledding hill that gets mobbed on weekends, and 7 miles of groomed ski trails connecting to the Palouse to Cascades Trail. Good for first-timers, families, and anyone who values convenience over solitude. The parking lot holds 150 cars and fills by 9 a.m. on Saturdays. Weekdays are dramatically quieter—maybe 20 cars instead of 150. If you’re new to winter stuff and want a forgiving place to figure it out, this works. If you hate crowds, skip it on weekends.
Best for: First-timers, families, sledding, easy skiing
Avoid if: You want solitude or are going on a weekend morning
