About This Guide

Washington has a better car show calendar than most people realize.

Eastern Washington has wide open highways and a dry summer calendar that runs April through October. The west side has everything from urban neighborhood shows in Seattle to beachside cruises on the Long Beach Peninsula. In between, you have mountain passes, vineyard backroads, and Columbia River scenery that makes every drive to a show part of the experience.

This guide covers all 43 events we know about for 2026, organized by month so you can actually plan around it. New events are added as they are announced. If you know of a show that should be on here, reach out.

Earlier Season, More Shows

Western Washington accounts for roughly two thirds of the shows on this list. The season runs April through October, with the heaviest concentration in May, June, and July. Cruise nights in the Seattle and Tacoma areas often run weekly through the summer. Expect more muscle cars and imports mixed in with the classics.

Eastern Washington

Peak Season July to September

Eastern Washington car culture runs hotter and drier. The Tri-Cities, Yakima, Spokane, and Walla Walla host some of the most authentic shows in the state, with strong turnout from Idaho and Oregon. The weather cooperates from mid-June through early October, and shows skew toward full custom builds and American classics.

Practical Advice

Get the Most Out of Car Show Season

Go Early

The best shows open at 8 or 9 AM. Cars are still being staged, owners are easy to talk to, and the crowds have not arrived yet. An hour before noon is worth three hours after it.

Bring Cash

Swap meet sellers almost always prefer it, food trucks frequently require it, and having small bills at vendor booths saves you the awkward card-reader shuffle.

Talk to the Owners

Most people showing their cars are there to share the story. Ask about the restoration, where the car came from, what took longest. You will learn more in an hour than you would in three hours walking past cars silently.

Book Lodging Early for Destination Shows

The Rod Run, Cruizin Chelan, Wheelin' Walla Walla, and Cool Desert Nights all draw visitors from across the region. Nearby rooms fill up months out for the big ones. Lock something down before you finalize anything else.

Dress for the Day, Not the Photo

Eastern Washington shows in late September can swing 40 degrees between morning and afternoon. Pacific coast events like the Rod Run can be cool and windy even in September. Layer up and keep the drive comfortable.

Goodguys and Dream Builders for Families

Both events have strong family programming with dedicated kids activities. If you are attending with children, these two are the best starting points on the calendar. Making a full weekend out of Goodguys? Tacoma in Two Days has the itinerary.

Quick Answers

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the biggest car show in Washington State?

The Goodguys 38th Griot's Garage Pacific Northwest Nationals in Puyallup (July 24 to 26, 2026) is the largest car show in Washington State. The three-day event draws thousands of entries including American classics, hot rods, custom builds, trick trucks, and muscle cars, plus a swap meet, burnout contest, and live entertainment.

Are there car shows near Seattle?

Yes. The Seafair Classic runs on Lake Washington Boulevard in August. The Greenwood Car Show takes place in the Greenwood neighborhood every June. Fenders on Front Street in Issaquah is a popular Father's Day show. And the Goodguys Nationals in Puyallup, about 35 miles south, is the biggest show in the state.

Are there car shows in Eastern Washington?

Eastern Washington has one of the richest car show calendars in the state. Spokane opens the season with the indoor Spokane Speed and Custom Show in April. The Yakima Valley hosts the Vintiques NW Nationals, Old Steel Car Show, and Yakima Valley Swap Meet. The Tri-Cities area has five events across spring and summer. Harrington, Walla Walla, and Richland round out the eastern calendar.

What is the best free car show in Washington State?

Most Washington car shows are free for spectators. The Vintiques NW Nationals in Yakima is free to attend and runs four days with food, live music, and racing. The Rod Run to the End of the World in Ocean Park is free and set on the Long Beach Peninsula coast. Cool Desert Nights in Richland is free and one of the longest-running shows in Eastern Washington.

What is the best destination car show in Washington State?

The Rod Run to the End of the World on the Long Beach Peninsula, Cruizin Chelan on the shore of Lake Chelan, Wheelin' Walla Walla in wine country, and the Concours de Maryhill in the Columbia River Gorge are the four strongest destination shows in the state. Each pairs a great car event with a genuinely memorable Washington travel experience.

Are there indoor car shows in Washington State?

Yes. The Spokane Speed and Custom Show (April 10 to 12) is Washington's largest fully indoor car show, filling eight buildings at the Spokane County Fair and Expo Center. The 10th Annual Show Ur Ride Super Show (September 27) moves inside to the Three Rivers Convention Center in Kennewick for its milestone year.

What is the best car show for families in Washington?

The Goodguys Pacific Northwest Nationals in Puyallup and the Dream Builders Car Show in Monroe both offer dedicated family programming. Car Show 4 Kids at the Washington State Fairgrounds (July 18) is a charity event open to all with free spectator admission. The Seafair Classic in Seattle pairs with the full Seafair weekend for an all-day family event.

Are there Mustang-specific car shows in Washington?

Ponies in the Sun, hosted by the Sun Country Yakima Valley Mustang Club, is Washington's dedicated Mustang show. It runs in late September in Yakima with a cruise-in at Major's Drive-In on Lincoln Avenue.

What is a concours and how is it different from a regular car show?

A concours d'elegance is traditionally a judged competition where vehicles are evaluated for originality, condition, and authenticity rather than customization or performance. Vehicles are typically presented on a manicured setting and assessed by marque experts. Worth noting: Washington's Concours de Maryhill takes its name from that tradition but operates differently. The show draws over 200 cars of a wide variety and awards trophies by popular vote from fellow entrants, not a judging panel. Spectators attend free. It is held October 3, 2026 at the Maryhill Museum of Art in the Columbia River Gorge.

How do I find out about car shows in Washington not on this list?

The Mopars Unlimited Seattle Facebook group maintains one of the most active community-sourced car show lists in the state. Local car clubs in your area are another reliable source. This guide is updated annually. If you know of a show that should be here, reach out.
