Whitworth Community Chorale – From The Altar to The Stage
Join the 150-voice Whitworth Community Chorale as we travel “From the Altar to the Stage.” In this performance, we feature the Deutsche Messe (German Mass) D 872 by Franz Schubert. Audience members will also experience well-known choruses from notable operas and musicals. Conducted by Joshua Chism, the Whitworth Community Chorale is a non-auditioned, open-enrollment choral ensemble specifically for community singers of all ages and experience levels as well as Whitworth students, faculty, staff, and alumni. The Chorale was formed to provide singers a unique opportunity to participate in something that fit with their busy schedules, but in a rigorous and high-level environment. Dedicated to the performance of large-scale choral masterworks in addition to secular and sacred choral works, the Chorale rehearses Monday evenings from 6:30pm to 8:30pm during the Whitworth University academic calendar.
