Date: 6 Part Class – October 7th, 9th, 11th, 14th, 16th, & 18th all from 6pm-9pm(18 hours total)

Beginning
Introduction to selecting and faceting gemstones. Students will be provided with a rough stone to cut, and will be lead through the steps needed to create their own faceted gem to keep.
The class will cover the workings of faceting machines, a bit of optics (no math required), and the fine art of polishing gem stones. Students will learn: what to look for in gem rough. How to use a faceting machine, how light reacts inside of a gem to give it it’s sparkle. How to find the resources and expertise to further develop their skills!

Our classroom is located upstairs and are limited to 4 students for this class.
