Weeds Cafe Cashmere Washington Day 1 of The 100 Cups of Coffee in 100 Days Project

Weeds Cafe

Let’s talk about coffee, shall we?

Weeds Cafe serves Dillano’s (DCR) Coffee, a local roaster from Sumner, Washington. Weeds Café offers a wide range of caffeinated drinks from drip coffee to Lattes and Mochas.  They also sell DCR coffee by the pound, so you can take some home with you- which we recommend!

Weeds Cafe

DCR coffee has been roasting coffee in Sumner since 1992.  Weeds has made a solid choice to serve DCR coffee at their café. My drip coffee was fresh and not overly roasted. Side note: One of my pet peeves is often drip coffee is served thermal nuclear hot and it takes way too long to be able to drink without causing 3rd degree burns to my mouth. Looking at you globally known coffee chain. Here at Weeds, they serve their drip coffee at a perfect temperature to drink immediately- which is in my opinion, how all coffee should be served.

Atmosphere And Ambience

The café itself is a very comfortable spot to sit and have a conversation. Which is exactly what I did while I was there. For my first cup of coffee for this 100 days project, my guest was my wife Edie. We ordered lunch salad for Edie and a sandwich for me, and chatted while we were waiting for our meal. Weeds Cafe offers game cards at each table that you can use to ask questions and create conversations with- ideal for first dates, or 100th dates with your partner. We had a lot of fun answering the wide range of questions that were at our table. During our visit, the café was doing a brisk business and yet, everyone was friendly, outgoing and did their best to ensure we would come back again, which we will!

Interesting Fun Floor

One interesting item is the floor of the café. There are over 114,000 pennies on the floor covered in epoxy! It is the perfect add of funkiness for the small town of Cashmere. For fun they placed 3 dimes in the floor just to give you something to look for while you are there. While we weren’t able to find any of the dimes, I can imagine this is something that parents would love to have their kids give a go at! (Talk about coffee in peace!)
