David Story Field

David Story Field

David Story Field is a  landmark at Lower Columbia College in Longview, Washington.  The field underwent extensive remodeling in 2010 specifically for the Cowlitz Black Bears‘ premier season. This revamp brought about several new features including the Bob’s Sporting Goods Party Deck, luxurious Party Suites in left field, the elite Home Plate Club in the grandstand, and family-friendly picnic tables in right field.

Additionally, in 2018, an exclusive suite was inaugurated adjacent to the visitor dugout, exclusively reserved for the esteemed WestRock Box Plant staff and their families.

This legendary field is a true jewel in the Northwest collegiate facilities. Its design beautifully fuses the nostalgia of old-school baseball aesthetics with state-of-the-art amenities like a modern AstroTurf infield. The main grandstand boasts historical stadium seating, salvaged from the original home of the Seattle Pilots, Sick’s Stadium. It also offers a vast party deck area, perfectly positioned for an unobstructed view from deep left field.

Among the many amenities, the field proudly showcases bright lighting for night games, a fully enclosed press box, a state-of-the-art 9-inning digital scoreboard, dual concession stands for refreshments, well-maintained restrooms, and a dual-tunnel indoor hitting facility ingeniously built into the center field wall.

For convenience, the park is strategically positioned at the campus’s heart, ensuring sufficient parking on either side and straightforward access.
