FOUND: Good Coffee In Shelton
Urraco Coffee is in a residential neighborhood in Shelton. The coffee shop is in a converted house with a great outdoor seating area.
On my last visit to Urraco Coffee I was joined by my friend and Explore Washington State contributor Todd Phillips. Todd’s a Mocha guy… Don’t hold that against him. I was one once also. We enjoyed a nice warm sunny day sitting and watching people walk by.

Urraco Coffee has been roasting their own Fair-Trade Organic coffees since 2003. One thing that is cool is the roaster is right out in the main seating area. I’ve yet to visit when they are roasting but one of these days, I hope my timing will be right. I love it when coffee shops display their roasters. The roasting process is like alchemy to me. Part science part art. Watching coffee being roasted is always a fun time.

To Go Is Okay Today
Since we were going to sit outside, I decided it would be ok to have my coffee in a to go cup. The coffee was served hot enough that I was able to chat with Todd for a bit while it cooled to more of my personal preference. Todd’s mocha was served at a very drinkable temperature, he started enjoying his drink quickly. My coffee was really a very enjoyable cup of coffee. I did not think to ask what specific coffee I was drinking (this was earlier on in my 100 days and I was still dialing in my process) so I cannot tell you specifically what I was enjoying. Next time I go in I will make sure to take better notes.

Exposed beams and pastries. Nice Combo!
The inside seating area is cozy with a few tables and chairs. They offer free wi-fi so you can save a bit on your data while you are relaxing and catching up on your social media feeds. If you are driving through Shelton you can take advantage of the drive thru.
Urraco Coffee sells a full selection of their beans so you can take some home and have great tasting coffee at home. They also carry a few mugs, cups, and other swag items. I have not tried their pastries so I will leave that up to you to find out. Now you have two reasons to go to Shelton.
